About Us :

The XIT Museum contains exhibits on the XIT Ranch and ranching equipment, wagons and several period rooms including a wedding Chapel. The museum also hosts changing exhibits on various collections of hats, guns, cameras and other historical items.

Our newly renovated Art Gallery features different artists exhibiting throughout the year. Extensive photographic and document archives, microfilm of newspapers dating to the late 1800's and various other records provide research information upon request.

The XIT Museum, sponsored by the Dallam-Hartley County Historical Association, also serves as a learning tool for area schools as well as a chronicle for other area points of interest such as the Kiowa and Rita Blanca National Grasslands, The Rita Blanca Lake State Park and the annual XIT Rodeo and Reunion held the first long weekend in August of each year.
