About Us

After buying this beautiful property near Comfort, Texas in 1993, Dick & Julie Holmberg found the Texas Hill Country irresistible, so plans were made to move there permanently. Inspired by their love of wine and travels to major wine regions, they studied the feasibility of planting a vineyard.

In 1998 their home was built and the first Merlot vineyard was planted. Singing Water Vineyards was born. Family and friends came together to help plant the first grapevines. This custom of family and friends helping to bring in the annual harvest continues. The name Singing Water describes the wonderful sound that fills the air as the waters of Bruins creek cascade over the waterfall on the property.
