The Fort Sam Houston Museum depicts the history of Fort Sam Houston and the Army in this region. This includes the development of the installation, the activities of tenant units and organizations, the events which occurred here which affected the Army, the Nation and the service of soldiers stationed here.

Towards this end, the Museum collects, preserves, and displays artifacts and other materials which document or depict the history of Fort Sam Houston.
