The 9 Best Pumpkin Picking Spots in Texas!

With the fall season comes the age-old search for the perfect pumpkin. Which pumpkin patch has outdone itself this year, providing visitors with a chance to procure a pumpkin that’s not just big, but Texas BIG? We recommend starting with the following 9 pumpkin patches. Each and every one should do you just fine.

Arison Farm, Granbury, TX

Floydada Pumpkins, Floydada, TX

Floydada, Texas is known as the “Pumpkin Capital of the USA,” according to the Floydada Pumpkins website. The surrounding county produces roughly 1,800 acres of pumpkins annually, making Floydada Pumpkins a must-see destination for your next u-pick adventure.

Barton Hill Farms, Bastrop, TX

Barton Hill Farms opens in late September and runs through early November. The farm offers field trips, birthday parties, and a fall festival celebration every weekend during that time. They boast nearly endless attractions, but the main event is the u-pick pumpkin patch.

Blueberry Ridge Farm, Mineola, TX

Blueberry Ridge Farm claims to be the oldest blueberry farm in the Lone Star State. While their blueberries are not to be missed, the main attraction this fall is undoubtedly the reopening of their u-pick pumpkin patch after a year out of commission. $7 per child gets you access to tons of activities plus a pumpkin.

Elves Farm, Denison, TX

Elves Farm plays double duty during the holiday season, serving as both a Christmas tree destination and pumpkin patch in the fall. The pumpkin patch opens in early October and remains open through the end of the month. They specialize in Big Macs, Cinderella’s, carnival squash, minis, and more.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze, Grapevine, TX

Located between Dallas and Ft. Worth, Hall’s Pumpkin Farm and Corn Maze in Grapevine, Texas offers hayrides, a corn maze, pumpkin picking, and more. According to their website, “We have big pumpkins, little pumpkins, sweet pie pumpkins, fairy-tales, Cinderellas, gourds of all kinds…” in other words, they have everything you might need.

Lone Star Family Farm, Stephenville, TX

The Lone Star Family Farm styles itself as “The Funnest Place in Texas to get your pumpkins,” and while we can’t independently verify the claim, we can tell you it’s pretty dang awesome. The pumpkin patch opens on in late September and runs through early November. Their pumpkins and gourds vary in price depending on weight.
