History
In 1992, a historic colonial house in Cambridge, Massachusetts was converted into the original House of Blues, a home for live music and southern-inspired cuisine in an environment celebrating the African American cultural contributions of blues music and folk art. Honoring this mission, Dan Aykroyd, James Belushi, Aerosmith, Harvard University, River Phoenix, Paul Schaffer and many others financed the original House of Blues. The original House of Blues opened its doors to the public after serving a group of homeless people on Thanksgiving Day, 1992.
