College entrance exam scores are on the rise, according to new reports released on the Class of 2006. School officials report that the ACT score for Carroll increased from a composite 23.9 to 24.2. This is well above the state and national ACT composite averages of 20.3 and 21.1, respectively. A total of 347 members of the Class of 2006 took the ACT exam. That number is up from 342 students from the year before.
Composite SAT scores for the Class of 2006 are 1119 compared to 1118 last year, without the new writing test included. The composite is made up of a new critical reading score of 547 compared to last year's verbal score of 551. The math score this year is 572 compared to 567 last year. A total of 514 students took the SAT compared to 494 last year. Composite scores on the new writing test were 539 which raised the overall total composite for Carroll students to 1658.
Like the ACT, Carroll's SAT scores are well above the state and national averages of 1484 and 1518, respectively.
